AccessProof is Level 0: it works only with your product catalog, images and theme, plus your public storefront HTML. It never reads orders, customers, or checkouts.

What AccessProof accesses
read_products
Product titles and their images (with existing alt text) — used to audit accessibility and to ground AI alt-text drafts in your real images.
write_products
Writes approved alt text back to a product's image. Every write snapshots the previous alt so it is reversible with one click.
read_themes
Reads your theme's structure to check for accessibility issues in the storefront markup. Read-only — AccessProof does not modify your theme.
Public storefront HTML
The audit fetches your public storefront pages (home, a collection, cart, search) the same way any visitor's browser would — no scope, no login, no personal data.
What AccessProof never accesses
Orders, customers, checkouts, or any personally identifiable customer data. AccessProof does not request read_orders, read_customers or related scopes — it is structurally unable to read them.
How your data is handled
- Zero-retention AI: when you draft alt text, the product image is sent to the vision model and is never logged or retained; only coarse, non-content metadata (token counts, latency) is recorded.
- Grounded & honest: AI describes only what is visible in your own image, and a safety gate rejects filler or invented claims. You review every draft before it is written.
- Reversible writes: the previous alt text is snapshotted before any write-back, so every change can be undone.
- Deleted on uninstall: on app uninstall and on a Shopify shop-redaction request, all of your data is removed.
Honesty
The accessibility score measures how many WCAG 2.1 AA checks pass — it is not legal advice or a guarantee that your store is compliant. We do not sell an accessibility overlay; we fix issues at the source. You remain responsible for meeting your legal obligations.
