Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By installing or using AccessProof (the "app"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not install or use the app. You must be authorized to act on behalf of the Shopify store on which you install it.

2. The service

AccessProof audits your storefront against WCAG 2.1 AA (the standard the EU Accessibility Act relies on), helps you fix the issues it finds — including AI alt-text written back to your product images — and exports an evidence report. It operates at Protected Customer Data Level 0 and does not read your orders or customers. See our Privacy Policy for how data is handled.

4. Your content & approvals

• You retain all rights to your product content and images.
• AI-generated alt text is a draft; you choose whether to save it, and you are responsible for its accuracy once written.
• Alt text is written only after your action and is reversible; you may undo it at any time.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app: no attempts to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or overload the service; no use to publish unlawful, infringing, or deceptive content; and no use in violation of Shopify's terms or applicable law.

6. Billing

Paid plans are billed through Shopify's managed billing according to the plan and interval you select. Fees are charged via your Shopify invoice. You can change or cancel your plan from within the app; charges already incurred are non-refundable except where required by law.

7. Third-party services

The app relies on Shopify and on Anthropic (for AI alt-text). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party outages or changes.

8. Warranty disclaimer

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AccessProof and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid for the app in the three months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the app and uninstall it at any time. On uninstall we remove your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these terms or as required by Shopify or law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date on this page. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
